Bonnie Wakefield-King

Bonnie Wakefield-King, 89, died September 20, 2012 at Brighton, Colorado. She was born February 25, 1923 in Bucklin to James Lewis and Zella Ethel (Manis) McQuerrey. She had lived in Pueblo, Colorado

from 1942-1987 and then Truth or Consequences, New Mexico from 1987-

2012.

She retired as a floral designer for Releford Flowers of Pueblo, CO.

Bonnie belonged to Caballo Community Church and the Ladies Auxiliary

(V.F.W.) both of Truth or Consequences, NM. She was also a member of

the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Pueblo, CO.

On February 17, 1940 she married Vernon Donald Wakefield at

Carthage, Missouri. He died May 21, 1982. She then married

Martin “Link” King March 14, 1987 at Pueblo, Colorado. He died June 11,

1991.

Survivors: 2 sisters, Rosa Lee Raney of Syracuse, Kan. and Judith

Kay Porsch of Bucklin, Kan.; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She is preceded by her parents, husbands, and a son, Donald E.

Wakefield.

There will be a Graveside Service and Interment 10 a.m. Monday,

September 24, 2012 at the Bucklin, KS. Cemetery with Rev. Rick Jones

officiating. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the

Minnis Mortuary, Bucklin KS. Memorial can be made to donor’s choice in care of Minnis Mortuary, Box 516, Bucklin KS 67834.
