Juanita “Joanne” Torrance, 87, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society in Dodge City.
She was born March 20, 1925 at Hall County, Texas, the daughter of Oliver and Edith Finnel Tredaway. On July 28, 1944 Joanne married Harold L. Torrance. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2001.
Survivors include: her daughter, Terri Burkhart and husband Kenny; two grandchildren, Chelsea and Katie Wheatcroft; great-grandson, Ricky Lee all of Dodge City; nephew Vaughn C. Johnson, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mildred Johnson and Treva Batterton and a nephew LaDon Johnson.
Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel in Dodge City, with Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. There is no public visitation, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. Private family burial will follow in Greencrest Memorial Gardens in Dodge City.
