Eunice Mae Pittman, 94, died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Minneola Long Term Care Unit.
Pittman was born May 2, 1918 on the family farm near Bloom. Her parents were Harry W. and Hannah F. (Larson) Esplund.
She married Cleo Pittman on June 5, 1945 in Dodge City, KS. He died September 13, 1999.
Pittman attended the Bluff Creek one room school south of Bloom and graduated from Bloom High School in 1936 as the class valedictorian. She was active in the Bloom School Alumni and served as its historian for many years and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She spent her entire life in Clark County, primarily as a wife, mother and homemaker.
She was very accomplished in the domestic arts and was a skilled seamstress, quilt maker, cook, woodworker and genealogist.
She is survived by one son, Galen L. Pittman of Lawrence. She is preceded in death by a son, Stanley R. Pittman.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 6 at the Appleton Township Cemetery near Minneola with Rev. Kip Ryherd officiating. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola.
