Robert C. Louquet Sr.

DODGE CITY – Robert C. Louquet Sr. 75, died Friday, November 4, 2022 at Trinity Manor, Dodge City.

He was born to Paul C. Louquet and Trella E. (Attebery) Louquet in Yreka, California. As a youth, he hunted, fished, swam, chopped wood, and enjoyed being outdoors in the Siskiyou Mountains.

Bob attended Happy Camp schools graduating in 1965. He served as a medic attached to the 18th Surgical Hospital in the U. S. Army for three years of service. He served one tour in the Vietnam war. Upon his return to the United States, he was stationed at Ft. Riley where he met his future wife, Lora Brewer. They were married June 6, 1970 in Moscow, Kansas. In 1978, they moved to Dodge City, Kansas.

Bob entered the computer era early in its onset, working his way up from Computer Operator to Director of Information Technology. He worked for Chaffin Inc. for 25 years, then Fairpoint Communications for 15 years before his retirement. Bob began hobby farming to help his father-in-law, but then took over the farm full-time after his retirement from Fairpoint Communications in 2012. Bob retired from farming in 2019.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lora; other survivors include two sons: Robert C. Louquet Jr. and wife Melissa, St. George, Kansas and Ryan M. Louquet, Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Cody, Will, Alli, Logan, and Avery.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial will take place at a later date. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place.
