George Max Wilcoxen passed peacefully at his home in Park Hill Oklahoma on February 1, 2023 at the age of 70 after a courageous battle with cancer. George was born on March 20, 1952 in Spearville, Kansas, the sixth son of Kenneth and Ruby (Perkins) Wilcoxen.
George graduated Ford High School in Kansas, and worked in the local area pursuing his passion of carpentry. George had a beautiful voice and learned to play his favorite country music on his guitar. He loved to ride his Harley motorcycle throughout his life, and enjoyed riding in the beautiful weather of Key West, Florida, then Hawaii, Oklahoma, and again in Florida for many years. After his Florida home was destroyed by fire, he retired and moved to Oklahoma to be closer to his brothers.
He was a master carpenter who created workmanship which was hailed as artistry by his clients, but his greatest pride and joy was his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his son Joshua Cloud Wilcoxen and wife Sabrina of Arizona; daughter Nancy Roeder and fiance Robert Leavitt, Jr. of Kansas; and Jennifer Greene and husband Phillip Green of Florida; nine beloved grandchildren; brothers Merle Wilcoxen and wife Kathryn Sweet of California; Bill Wilcoxen and wife Sharon of Snake Creek, Oklahoma; Eddie Wilcoxen and wife Joan of Park Hill, Oklahoma, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank the hospice caregivers and chaplain for their dedication and support.
A private celebration of life will be held in Park Hill, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family at P.O. Box 94, Cookson, OK 74427, or emailed to wilcoxens@sbcglobal.net.
