The Shrine Circus is in town!

The elephants have returned to Dodge City after a one-year hiatus. Here are “Isla” and “Kelly” the Asian elephants contracted by the Hamid Circus to perform this weekend at the Shrine Circus in the Dodge City Civic Center. Adult tickets are $10 at the door and kids are $5. Elephant rides are $20.

DCCC: Women’s basketball wins 17th straight beating Cloud County

Dodge City women’s basketball team hit the road in KJCCC action and kept their win streak going extending it to 17-straight games behind a 74-59 win over Cloud County. The Conquistadors with the win move to 24-2 on the season and 19-1 in conference play, while also marking their fourth straight win over the Thunderbirds in the series.

The scholarships — each worth $1,000 — continue a proud tradition of supporting the future of the Kansas wheat industry.

Red Demons basketball falls short against Garden City

the Red Demons came up short with a 45-49 loss to the Garden City boys basketball team who showed the Western Athletic Conference why they are ranked #4 in the state Feb. 14. Garden City led 1613 after the first quarter but the Red Demons would continue to fight as they outscored 10-8 in the second quarter when Garden City took a 26-21 lead into halftime.

Lady Demons basketball win 38-30 over Garden City

From the opening tip against Garden City the Lady Demons came out guns blazing on Valentine’s Day. That fast start proved instrumental after both teams settled in, as the Lady Demons never trailed and pulled away late for a 38-30 win in this Western Athletic Conference action.
