United is pleased to announce the Kansas Soldiers’ Home (KSH) at Fort Dodge as the 2022 recipient of its annual holiday giving program. The KSH offers independent living, assisted living, and long-term care for over 80 veterans.
Vicki Lynn Cox, 68, passed away on December 26, 2022. She was born March 7, 1954.
Robert Hill Dodge City - Robert “Bob” D. Hill, 79, died December 8, 2022 at Manor of the Plains in Dodge City. He was born on March 31, 1943 at Dodge City, Kansas the son of Kenneth and Fannie (Miller) Hill. Bob was engaged in farming for several years before going to work at Curtis Machine as a draftsman. He was a very loving and caring person and willing to help anyone in need. Bob enjoyed gardening and would raise extra vegetables for friends and family and also shared his bounty with the Friendship Feast. He is survived by his two brothers Byron Hill and wife Erlene of Dodge City and Roger Hill and wife Kim Denton-Hill of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister. Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday January 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Dusty Cookson presiding. Inurnment will be held at 2:30 PM January 2, 2023 at Bucklin Cemetery in Bucklin, Kansas. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Community Garden, Friendship Feast or Dodge City Library in care of the funeral home.
