Mary Theresa Addison

CIMARRON - Mary Theresa Addison, 75, a loving, caring, kind, giving and the best wife, mother, and nana we could ask for died, Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. She was born December 26, 1946 at Dodge City, Kansas the daughter of Howard Jr. and Doris (Stuart) Benton. She was a lifetime area resident. Mary helped out with anything that needed to be done both inside and outside the home including farming. Mary loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. She was often traveling with her husband when they had some “down” time. She adored her grandchildren, always making sure to attend every event, they were her world. On September 10, 1966 she married Larry Addison at Ingalls, Kansas. Survivors also include: husband, Larry Addison, Cimarron; 2 children, Scot Addison and wife Deanne Schartz, and Chanda Acton and husband Jeff, both of Cimarron; 4 grandchildren, Sladen Addison, and Colten, Emily and Rylan Acton; and a brother, Gene Benton, Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. The family suggests memorials to Children’s Mercy Kansas City in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801. Condolences may be sent to www.zieglerfuneralchapel.com.

Area schools football recap

In the second round of the playoff, it was another action-packed Friday night of high school football in the area. The Wallace County Wildcats welcomed the Bucklin Red Aces in a battle for the regional championship.

DCCC: Volleyball ends best season in years in region semifinals

Dodge City volleyball team competed in the Region VI Plains District Semifinals on Friday night after claiming their first playoff win in 10 years early in the week and took on #14 Seward County. The Conquistadors battled with the Saints of Seward County but ultimately were unable to over falling behind and fell 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-23) to end their season.
