Dodge City Wrestling Academy is back in Action

The Dodge City Wrestling Academy began their season this week, after finishing the 2021-2022 season with 27 State Qualifiers, 16 athletes placing, 5 State Champions, and 8th Place as a Club out of 170 in the State of Kansas. At this time DCWA has 74 athletes registered and ready to wrestle!

Macaroni Chicken Salad

2 1/2 cups macaroni, uncooked 2 cups diced chicken 2 tablespoons chopped onion 1/2 cup diced celery 1/2 cup finely diced carrots 1/2 cup sweet relish 1/2 cup mayonnaise salt and pepper to taste Cook macaroni according to package directions. Rinse with cold water and drain well; cool.

KAWG applauds Mann for introducing SMART Act to expand global market access

The Kansas Association of Wheat Growers (KAWG) applauds Representative Tracey Mann (R-KS-01), who joined his colleagues in introducing the Supporting Market Access to Reinvigorate Trade Act of 2022 (SMART Act), which would double funding for USDA’s Market Access Program (MAP) and Foreign Market Development (FMD) Program. Both programs are critical to expanding global market access for U.S. produced agricultural exports.

Public health advisories for Kansas lakes due to blue-green algae

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) have issued several public health advisories for Kansas lakes due to blue-green algae. The water recreation season in Kansas officially runs from April 1 to October 31, as do the harmful algae blooms (HAB) response program’s active operations.

Streetscape Project Phase 1: Central Avenue the center of attention as construction kicks off

When one street closes new sidewalks will open to ensure a the flow of traffic in downtown Dodge City is not interrupted during the first phase of the Downtown Streescape Project Starting Monday, Nov. 7, Central Avenue will be closed from Vine Street to the north side of Gunsmoke Street for reconstruction. Vine Street and Gunsmoke Street will remain open to traffic. This will kick off the first phase of the much-anticipated Downtown Streetscape project. This initial phase is anticipated to take six months.
