DCCC: Softball uses big offensive performance to sweep of Pratt

Dodge City softball team put on an offensive show on the road on Sunday as they routed Pratt in a pair of KJCCC victories 24-3 and 17-3 both in five innings. The wins move the Conquistadors to 10-14 on the season and 6-6 in Conference play, while making it 18-straight wins in the series with the Beavers of Pratt.

Bucklin baseball: Red Aces sweep Kinsley to start season

The Bucklin Red Aces baseball team swept their opponent in two games Thursday night over the Kinsley Coyotes to start the season 2-0. In the first game the Red Aces built a four-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off Kinsley Varsity Coyotes’s charge for a 4-3 victory.

Founding members of Citizens Police Auxiliary retire from program

The lobby of the Depot Theater was full of friends and family members March 24, many of whom were police officers and detectives, to congratulate four Dodge City Citizens Police Auxiliary members. Dodge City Police Chief Drew Francis honored Bill and Pat Mercado, Terri Trent and Keith Tallent at a retirement ceremony that day with certificates, gift baskets and challenge coins.
