Dodge City – Barbara Jean White Nieto, 84, died December 13, 2022 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on August 23, 1938 in Bucklin, Kansas the daughter of Euel W. Lawson and Ada K. Rader.
She grew up in Dodge City and attended Dodge City schools. Barbara received her LPN from Dodge City Community College and worked at the Kansas Soldier’s Home in Fort Dodge for 39 years. She attended the Nazarene Church in Alva, Oklahoma and Dodge City, Kansas. Her children were the most important thing in her life. She loved to dance, as well as reading, crocheting, fishing, and gardening.
She is survived by eight children, David Nieto of Dodge City, Kathy Koechner of Dodge City, Patty Morales of Dodge City, Steven Nieto of Dodge City, Rose Nieto of Dodge City, Lisa Nieto of Dodge City, Brandon Nieto of Dodge City, Justin White of Kansas City; two bonus children, Ramiro Rodriguez and Latisha Holguin; a sister, Norma Fugit of Dodge City; and many grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Brian Joseph Nieto, a daughter, Barbie Nieto, a sister, Glenda Harper, and two brothers, Vernon and Ronnie Lawson.
Memorial service will be held at Church of the Nazarene on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Ana Tallent presiding. There will be a meal before the service at noon at Church of the Nazarene. There is no visitation as cremation will take place. Memorials are suggested to Church of the Nazarene in care of the funeral home.
