Winter Weather Emergency Reminder

Just a quick reminder from Ford County Emergency Management, if you have not already taken notice of the winter weather, notifications that have gone out this weekend you should know that some areas will have multiple concerns coming at us for this week and next week including snow, ice, wind chill, and power bumps possible. A big thank you

What to do with the Christmas tree

After the holidays, many municipalities allow old Christmas trees to be placed curbside. Trees are then collected and ground up for mulch or burned. If you miss the designated date, or your trash collector doesn’t accept trees, there are several options to prolong the useful life of the tree.

Kansas cattlemen visit Mexican ranches in trade mission trip

The Kansas Department of Agriculture partnered with the U.S. Livestock Genetics Export, Inc. (USLGE) along with the Idaho, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Tennessee departments of agriculture to participate in a trade mission to Mexico. Participants of the trade mission were Kansas cattlemen Dirck Hoagland of J&N Ranch, Leavenworth, and Daniel Mushrush of Mushrush Red Angus, Strong City. The focus of the mission was to build relationships and expand international marketing opportunities for purebred beef cattle genetics in Mexico.

Genesis Family Health receives $500,000 grant award from Direct Relief’s Fund for Health Equity

Courtesy of Genesis Family Health Dodge City — Genesis Family Health today announced it is among 71 awardees that received a grant from Direct Relief’s Fund for Health Equity, which mobilizes financial resources for organizations focused on non-clinical interventions that affect a person’s health. Commonly known as the social determinants of health, these factors include an individual’s physical, social, cultural, and economic environment.
