Volunteers needed

The Ford County Commissioners are soliciting volunteers to represent the county’s older population on the South West Kansas Area Agency on Aging’s (SWKAAA) Sub-Region Council. The purpose of the council is to assist SWKAAA in determining the needs of senior citizens in Ford County and southwest Kansas, and to help them develop a coordinated and comprehensive plan to address those needs with the funding that has been provided.

BBB: Don’t get snowed by these Christmas look-alike scams

Your Better Business Bureau (BBB) continues down the holiday trail this week with three more warnings regarding Christmas scams. The “12 Scams of Christmas” is our annual way of alerting consumers to the seasonal blizzard of scamming activity. This week the focus is on three more slick scammer schemes, all involving slippery lookalikes – scam numbers 7 through 9.
