Yup, you just never know when you might need it

Just today at a 90th birthday celebration for a member of our community, some of us sat around a table discussing our tendencies to buy “stuff” at garage sales and auctions we really don’t need at the time. One guy surmised we really do that so that our kids have to deal with it when they settle our estate. Anyway, it made me think about the pool ladder I constantly move around outside my shed because I have no place to put it. Here’s how the story goes.

Usual weekly earnings of wage, salary workers in second quarter of 2022

Median weekly earnings of the nation’s 118.9 million full-time wage and salary workers were $1,041 in the second quarter of 2022 (not seasonally adjusted), the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported this week. This was 5.2 percent higher than a year earlier, compared with a gain of 8.6 percent in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) over the same period.
