Howdy from the Dodge City Public Library! We hope you have enjoyed our summer program thus far but hold on to your hats because we are already planning some great things for fall! As our summer program winds to a close, there are several fun things you can still join us for before the school year starts. Kansas farmers made significant progress completing wheat harvest in the last week, including many who spent the holiday weekend in a combine cab.
Both the Ford County Commission and the Dodge City Commission voted to approve Sunday alcohol sales at their July 5 meetings. County commissioners approved the Sunday sale of alcoholic liquor and cereal malt beverages between the hours of 9 a.m.

The Ford County Commission approved the permanent and prominent display of the national motto, “In God We Trust,” in the government center at its July 5 meeting. Commissioners also approved incentive pay for all Ford County employees.
Fowler is kicking things into high gear in preparation for the 41st annual Threshing Days the third Saturday in July. Events are scheduled from July 9 to 16.
