Author Wenzl: it took a village to write ‘Mexican Village’ book

Tim Wenzl and his powerful pen have done it again. The archivist emeritus of the Catholic Diocese of Dodge City and author of several books on Kansas history, (not to mention a former Globe reporter from the days when the newsroom throbbed with the daily achievements of noisy typewriters and a full staff) just published his latest achievement, “Dodge City’s Mexican Village: A Place in Time 1906-1956.” The 120-page document is full of first-hand accounts and beloved photographs of scenes that were captured by Lalo Rodriguez, among others, that depict the life of Mexican residents inside their homes in the Mexican Village as well as out in the larger Dodge City community.
