Dodge City Police Department detectives believe a June 7 drive-by shooting in the 1200 block of 12th Avenue was gang retaliation to a fight earlier that day that resulted in the arrest of three people.
President of Arrowhead West, Inc., Lori Pendergast will retire June 30 after more than 40 years in the field, according to a press release from the organization. Mike Stein, vice president of administrative services for Arrowhead West, was selected the be the new president.

June 14 was the 28th birthday of our first-born daughter Elizabeth. I wish her many more happy and healthy years. She has been married almost seven years to a nice loving husband, Tim, and they have been blessed with four precious children Abigail, five; Timothy (T.J.), three; Allison, two; and Andrea, four months.
This is my first and last editorial as managing editor of the Dodge City Globe. I wanted to let our readers know the major change that will be happening to their newspaper.
Miss Kansas 2022 Ayanna Hensley is a Dodge City resident with Greensburg connections, a Rudd Scholar and 2022 Fort Hays State University graduate with a major in biology and a minor in creative writing. The Miss Kiowa County candidate is an accomplished athlete, student and a person of deep faith. But she didn’t come from a typical family background with a predestined penchant for success. She had to fight her way through childhood abuse, trauma and poverty. It’s something she is not ashamed to talk about, and something she feels has prepared her to be in the best position now, as Miss Kansas 2022, to reach out to others and lift them up through difficulties to be the best they can be.

The Dodge City USD 443 Board of Education voted June 13 to approve the display of the national motto “In God We Trust,” in each of the district’s 18 attendance centers. Board president Lisa Killion, vice president Tammie West, Jerad Goertzen, Jamey Lewis-Gonzales and Jeff Hiers were present at the meeting.
