TOPEKA - It’s a sign of the season – political campaigning and the posting of campaign signs. The Kansas Department of Transportation reminds the public that all political campaign signs or billboards are prohibited from being placed on state right of way.

Pyle to pursue office of governor
HIAWATHA - State Senator Dennis Pyle today announced that he has appointed a treasurer and is planning to pursue the office of Governor with an official statement forthcoming. “Due to the continual gross negligence in protecting and assisting citizens, my family and I have decided it is in the best interest of our state that I pursue running for Governor to enact solutions to stop the hardship of Kansans,” Pyle said.
Four vehicle collision claims one life, seriously injures another
It was early the morning of June 4 when Mike Hernandez, 24, of Dodge City, was driving away from Cargill Meat Solutions in a 2015 Chevy Camaro westbound on Highway 400 at the 125 mile marker, .8 miles east of Highway 56, with passenger Jasmine Mariah Mata, 24, of Dodge City.

Dodge City residential fire proved fatal for one
Whitney Hodgin Dodge City Globe An investigation is ongoing into a fatal fire on Johnson Avenue in Dodge City that ended the life of one resident May 25. The Dodge City Fire Department and Kansas State Fire Marshal are not positive on the source but do not believe it was set intentionally, Dodge City Police Chief Drew Francis said.
