Your favorite pizza dough, or 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls, spread into an 11x15 inch pan or 2 pizza pans 1 dozen scrambled eggs 2 pounds bacon, cooked and crumbled 1 cup ham, cooked and diced 1 pound sausage, browned and crumbled 1 pound shredded hash browns 4 cups sausage gravy 2 cups shredded cheese Optional toppings: mushrooms, green peppers, onions Spread half of gravy over dough, then sprinkle on meat, eggs, hash browns, and optional toppings, if desired. Spread on remaining gravy.

The Toad Abode

There’s just something about a toad that “conjures” up visions of a witch in a huge black hat with a big hairy wart on her nose mumbling spells as she stirs a bubbling pot full of potion. Toads just look creepy, and then of course there is that propensity they possess to pee on anyone picking them up. Despite having a face only, a mother could love, toads are extremely important to our planet. It is reported that a toad can eat ten thousand insects in one summer and are a big part of nature’s pest patrol (the person who did the counting for that study really needs a life!)

Hilmar Cheese Company has enough dairies on local roster

Hilmar Cheese Company continues to move forward on the new state-of-the-art cheese and whey production facility in Dodge City scheduled to break ground later this year. Between eight and 12 new dairies will be built within a 50-mile radius of Dodge City, while some existing dairies, like High Plains Ponderosa Dairy in Meade County, have already signed contracts with the company to expand its operations.

Linn Elementary School awarded for efforts to make working breastfeeding easier for employees

The Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition recently awarded Linn Elementary School for implementing a special space for nursing mothers on staff to express milk during work hours. Coalition executive Brenda Bandy said the school received a “gold level” award for its pumping room, the first of its kind in the school district, as well as for having written breastfeeding support into school policy.
