KDOT announces aviation projects selected for funding

TOPEKA – Thirty-six projects have been selected for Kansas Airport Improvement Program funding for the purpose of planning, constructing or rehabilitating public use general aviation airports. KAIP receives $5 million annually through the Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program, known as IKE, and requires airport sponsors to share in the project costs by paying between 5% and 50% of the total project.

DCPL presentation to explore the journey of women on the Santa Fe Trail

A unique presentation will be heading to the Dodge City Library as historian Marla Matkin will be presenting “Women on the Santa Fe Trail,” on Saturday, March 26 at 1:30 p.m. According to Matkin, the 200th celebration of the Santa Fe Trail has taken us on a grand journey along its rugged and colorful vistas, as well as given us the opportunity to reflect on the people and their stories who traveled the trail.
