Mary Theresa Addison
CIMARRON - Mary Theresa Addison, 75, a loving, caring, kind, giving and the best wife, mother, and nana we could ask for died, Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. She was born December 26, 1946 at Dodge City, Kansas the daughter of Howard Jr. and Doris (Stuart) Benton. She was a lifetime area resident. Mary helped out with anything that needed to be done both inside and outside the home including farming. Mary loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. She was often traveling with her husband when they had some “down” time. She adored her grandchildren, always making sure to attend every event, they were her world. On September 10, 1966 she married Larry Addison at Ingalls, Kansas. Survivors also include: husband, Larry Addison, Cimarron; 2 children, Scot Addison and wife Deanne Schartz, and Chanda Acton and husband Jeff, both of Cimarron; 4 grandchildren, Sladen Addison, and Colten, Emily and Rylan Acton; and a brother, Gene Benton, Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Thomas Wayne Badger
Topeka - Thomas Wayne Badger, 79, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on August 31, 1943 in Scranton, Kansas, the son of Glen and Minetta (Finlay) Badger. Tom received a Bachelor’s Degree from Kansas State University in Ag. Education. He worked as an Area Conservationist for the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service and retired with over 35 years of service. He had also worked on the Governor’s Water Quality Project. He served for 6 years in the Kansas Army National Guard, was a member of the Stull Community of Faith Church, the Topeka Sunflower Lions Club and the Vesper Lodge #136 in Burlingame A.F. & A.M. On June 5, 1965, Tom was united in marriage to Laura Elaine Smith in Scranton. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, on October 23, 2020; by an infant daughter, Tracy Badger; by his parents, Glen and Minetta; and by his brother, Glen Badger. Tom is survived by his two children, Todd Badger of Stuart, Florida and Tara Phillips of Sedgwick, Kansas; his sister, Nancy Urish of Topeka; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life for Tom will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00am at the Stull Community of Faith Church. Inurnment will be in the Burlingame Cemetery at a later date. Alta Ross
Haviland - Alta Ross, 93, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022 at her home. She was born on January 17, 1929 in Wellsford to Anfred Lloyde Leland and Pearl May (Fankhouser) Johnson. Alta married Eugene Haile Ross on November 6, 1949 in Wellsford. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2017. Alta graduated from Wellsford High School. She attended Friends Bible College in Haviland for 2 years. She was a member of Haviland Friends Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting. She made plastic bag sleep mats that she donated to the Salvation Army, Manna House in Dodge City and Ascension Lutheran Church in Pratt. Each one of the sleep mats had a Gideon pamphlet attached. Thank you to all of the friends and neighbors for donating plastic bags for Alta’s project. She is survived by her children, Connie Ross of Dodge City, Gary (Joann) Ross and Delbert Ross both of Haviland; sister, Patsy Bruce of Venice, Florida; brother, Gene (Bobbie) Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother in-law, Delmar Ferguson of Overland Park; grandchildren, Michelle (Jeff) Zook of Ellinwood, Travis (Amanda) Ross of Eaton, Colorado and Jenny (Matt) Ohmie of Wichita; great-grandchildren, Caleb Zook, Joshua Zook, Rolland Ross, Abram Ross and another on the way.
