High-maintenance friend is a drama-drain
Dear Amy: I love my friend “Charlene,” but she is the very definition of high-maintenance. She drinks way too much - every day - and sleeps with strangers she meets in bars.

Dear Amy: My husband of just under two years does things behind my back that he knows would hurt me. While we were dating we promised exclusivity to each other.
After Governor Laura Kelly’s announcement last week that Panasonic plans to open an electric vehicle battery plant in De Soto, there’s a lot to be excited about here in Kansas. The $4 billion project is estimated to create up to 8,000 jobs and is the biggest business investment in state history.
Dear Amy: My father recently died. I am the child of his first wife.
Dear Editor, I read the Dodge City Daily Globe article: “Roundup Rodeo: Rodeo clown Islay ready to entertain” (July 16th issue). The article told of the marvelous rodeo clown Keith Isley and his award-winning style of being a rodeo clown.
Google and Facebook have enormous economic and political power in society – especially over the news industry. Many ask if they have played a role in the misinformation that erodes our free press and plagues our democracy.
Dear Editor, This paper recently published a misleading letter to the editor concerning the so called “Value Them Both” amendment. The author stated the amendment did not seek to eliminate the right to abortion and was primarily concerned with preventing the government funding of abortion.
Dear Amy: Some time ago I gave my good friend “Cheryl” some very expensive designer clothes I thought she would like, but they were too big for her. With my permission she showed them to a couple of other people I know, one of whom took the clothing, apparently with delight.
Dear Amy: I’m a new parent of a five-month-old baby. My partner and I love our baby, but we have different approaches and I’m concerned that my partner’s parenting approach won’t be good for our baby in the long term.
Dear Voters, I noticed an article shared in this newspaper on Tuesday, July 12th titled “Western Themed ‘Vote No’ campaign launches in Dodge City.” This article spurred me to address the lie shared in this article that states “the upcoming Kansas constitutional amendment seeks to virtually eliminate the right to abortion in the state-with no exceptions.” The Value Them Both amendment does no such thing. In fact the only act that this amendment would “eliminate” is the possibility of “government funded abortion.” Quoted directly from the amendment that you can find at www.valuethemboth.com under “The Amendment” tab.
