It was a banner year for the Dodge City High School’s United States Air Force Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. With more than 100 members in only its second year of existence, it was awarded the Distinguished Unit Award for the school year 20222023 because it achieved or exceeded all its goals and averaged more than 17 hours of community service per cadet.
Dodge City track and field wrapped up the outdoor season with three athletes competing at the NJCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships in Hobbs, New Mexico. Leading the charge for the Conquistadors was the performance of Denise Dominguez who closed out her Dodge City career by earning a spot on the podium in the 10,000-meter run posting a time of 40:19.74 to place seventh in the event.
The Topeka Tropics picked up its first win of the season against the Storm May 20 in Topeka. It was a close first half but the Storm just couldn’t break through in a 43-28 loss to the Tropics.

The Dodge City High School baseball team saw their season come to an end May 16, losing 10-0 to Derby in the regional final. “I’m really proud of this group,” Head Coach Zach Shipley said after the game.

The Dodge City High School girls soccer team ended the season May 18 when they fell to Manhattan High School in the Regional Championship by a score of 3-0. The Lady Demons finished their season with a record of 12-5-1 overall.
A trio of Dodge City men’s golfers have earned NJCAA Division I All-District honors from the Golf Coaches Athletic Association. The trio of Supakit Seelanagae, Arthit Kruaprayong, and Thanaphon Suwannapratheep were selected by the GCAA for All-District honors in the Central District.
