Dodge City Toros take down Wanderers 5-1

The Dodge City Toros took a huge win against SF Wanderers May 14 at Home. Damorney Hutchinson led the team with three goals in the match to help earn a 5-1 victory over the Wanderers. Alan Lopez and Miguel A Lopez each scored a goal in the match as well. In the last two games the Toros have scored 19 goals and improve to 3-1 on the season. The Toros return to action on May 20th as they travel to Wichita to face FC Wichita.

DCHS boys and girls finish third at WAC meet

Dodge City High School boys won three events and finished in third at the Western Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships in Great Bend. The girls brought home two gold medals and finished in third place. The DCHS boys scored 72.5 points and finished 55 1/2 points behind of first place Hays. The DCHS girls scored 49 points. The DCHS track team is back in action on Friday, May 19 as they participate at the Class 6A West Regional meet hosted by Garden City.

Chiefs to host Lions in 2023 NFL opener

The NFL announced today that the Super Bowl LVII champion Kansas City Chiefs will host the Detroit Lions at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 7 for the 2023 NFL Kickoff Game. The game will air on NBC as part of a special Thursday night edition of Sunday Night Football As part of the Kickoff Game festivities, the club will unveil its Super Bowl LVII championship banner as well as have a brief on-field presentation during pregame.

DCCC: Thank you, Howie Smith! Longtime Conquistador Softball Coach to Retire

Longevity in a career nowadays is celebrated after just five to ten years working at one place but for the past 37 years one individual has been dedicated to Dodge City Community College and the athletic department and we thank him for his hard work and dedication as he retires from coaching. Howie Smith after 37 years working for Dodge City Community College and 32 serving as the head softball coach is retiring.
