DCCC: Thank you, Howie Smith! Longtime Conquistador Softball Coach to Retire

Longevity in a career nowadays is celebrated after just five to ten years working at one place but for the past 37 years one individual has been dedicated to Dodge City Community College and the athletic department and we thank him for his hard work and dedication as he retires from coaching. Howie Smith after 37 years working for Dodge City Community College and 32 serving as the head softball coach is retiring.

Storm falls to Liberty 52-31

After a hard-fought first half, the Salina Liberty turned on the jets on Saturday May 6, leaving the Storm in the dust in a 52-31 win. Salina muted the Storm altogether until the second quarter, but the Storm battled back, as Josh Hollins walked in a touchdown from the goal line to even the score at 21-all going into the intermission.

Red Demons baseball close regular season with a win

The Dodge City High School baseball team closed out their regular season in dramatic fashion with a 5-3 win over Liberal Tuesday May 9. The Red Demons took a 3-1 lead in the third inning but Liberal was not going down without a fight as they tied the game 3-3 until the bottom of the 4th inning when the Red Demons took the lead for good and ended the regular season with a 5-3 victory.
