Dodge City softball team wrapped up the regular season with a pair of road losses in Great Bend falling 20-1 in five innings and 11-4 against Barton. The Conquistadors move to 17-28 on the season and finish 12-20 in KJCCC action.
Dodge City women’s golf wrapped up their season competing at the Plains District & Region VI Championships in Ankeny, Iowa, and placed fifth in the district and second in Region VI. The Conquistadors posted a two-round score of 679 (+111) to place fifth in the district but had the second-highest Region VI finish.
The Dodge City High school boys golf team shot a 318 and finished in first place at the Garden City Invitational Thursday April 27th. Aidan Robinson finished in 2nd place to lead the Red Demons after shooting an 73.
The Bucklin Red Aces hosted Cimarron in a doubleheader Thursday, April 27. At the end of the night the Cimarron left Bucklin without a victory.
For the first time since 2015, the Dodge City men’s golf team has claimed the district championship and claimed their first Region VI title since 2018. The tournament win punches the Conquistadors’ ticket to the NJCAA Division I National Championships for the 33rd straight year.
Dodge City escaped Great Bend with two wins on Thursday April 27. Both games were extremely close as the Red Demons won the first game 4-3 and escape the second game with a 8-7 victory.
Looking to bounce from the series opening action on Thursday against Seward County the Dodge City baseball team hit the road to travel to Liberal on Sunday and would split a doubleheader against the Saints. The Conquistadors dropped game one 17-7 in five innings but bounced back to come from behind to win the series finale 15-12.
Dodge City softball played host to #20 Butler on a sophomore day to wrap up the home portion of the season and while hanging tough with the Grizzlies the Conquistadors would ultimately fall 9-1 in six innings and 5-1.
The outdoor track and field season continued for the Dodge City Conquistadors and it was a national qualifying and school record performance that paced the Conqs at the Thunderbird Classic hosted by Cloud County in Concordia, Kansas.
Monday’s doubleheader featured two schools that will face off this May. Spearville would pick up a doubleheader sweep, taking game one 11-0, and the finale 13-1 over Kinsley on April 24.
