Farm pond fishin’

While driving the countryside lately, I’ve noticed that despite the ever-encroaching drought, some of the really nice farm ponds around still hold lots of water. Good farm ponds built in the correct place are hard to beat, and farm-pond fishing is often good. This brought to mind a farm-pond fishing adventure Joyce and I had a few years back about this time of year at a local pond.

Spearville Lady Lancers volleyball team preview

“This will be a building year for us,” said head coach Syble Thompson. “We graduated some key players last year. We are looking to train our setters to be confident and strong in their roles. We have great experience returning which will help us to grow and strengthen our team. Our main focus will be on teamwork and bonding. Unity is key in making the team the best team on the court.”

DCCC: Volleyball splits pair of games to open season

Mike Smith DCCC Sports Information Director It was a doubleheader split for the volleyball team to open the 2022 season as they competed in McCook, Nebraska facing off against Laramie County and Mc-Cook. The Conquistadors would open the season against Laramie County and struggle out of the gate falling behind early in the match ultimately dropping the season opener 3-1 (25-19, 25-21, 22-25, 25-16).

“Si Quema Cuhhh” means “it is burning!”
