BHS softball: sweeps Sylvan-Lucas

Tawney Krominga threw a gem in game one for Spearville Lady Lancers, allowing zero runs and besting Trojans by a score of 15-0. The Lady Lancers secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the third inning.
Dodge City baseball team wrapped up the regular season with a tough four-game series against the Hutchinson Blue Dragons, dropping all four games by scores of 11-9, 17-8, 11-8, and 13-2. The Conquistadors finish the regular season with a 28-25 record and finish 15-17 in the KJCCC West finishing sixth in the division.
In game one the Red Aces nabbed the lead late in the game in an 18-11 victory over Lakin on Monday. The game was tied at eight with the Red Aces batting in the top of the sixth when Nathan Imel drew a walk, scoring one run.
Dodge City softball team wrapped up their season in the Region VI Tournament falling 9-1 to Hutchinson and 12-4 to Colby in the tournament. The Conquistadors close the season with a 20-28 record.
The Dodge City golf team competed in the 36-hole Garden City invitational May 7. The first 18 holes were played at Buffalo Dunes and the second 18 holes at Southwind Country Club.
The Red Demons watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-0 loss to Maize South on May 7. Maize South took the lead on a stolen base in the first inning.
The Bucklin Red Aces derailed Ellis the night of March 7. In game one Nate Bowman threw a gem for the Red Aces, allowing zero runs and besting Ellis by a score of 4-0 In the first inning, the Red Aces got their offense started when Bowman doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
In the first game of the day a walk-off left Spearville on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat to Pratt Skyline May 7. The game was tied at three with Pratt Skyline batting in the bottom of the seventh when Miller singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
The Red Demons fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 14-7 loss to Blue Valley West May 8. Blue Valley West scored on a double by Kyle Jones in the first inning, a walk by Joey Nichols in the first inning, a double by Joseph Lock in the first inning, a single by Alex Villegas in the second inning, and a wild pitch during Nichols’s at bat in the second inning.
