Basketball is an international game with an impact all over the world in several countries and many athletes come to the United States to pursue their education and basketball careers at the collegiate level.

Dodge City track and field team hit the road to Nebraska to compete at the Loper Invitational on Friday hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney and competed against several NCAA Division II schools along with some NAIA programs.

Dodge City men’s golf team was in conference action for the second time this spring season on Monday and Tuesday and put together a second-place team performance at the Jayhawk Match II Tournament hosted at Crestview Country Club in Wichita.

The Bucklin Red Aces baseball team faced Pratt Skyline on April 11 and picked up two wins. Bucklin took the game in dramatic fashion, with a 7-6 walk-off victory over Skyline. Bucklin trailed 6-5 in the bottom of the eighth inning when JT Prusa doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. Skyline scored four runs in the sixth inning, but Bucklin still managed to pull out the victory. Bucklin knotted the game up at five in the bottom of the seventh inning. Nathan Imel hit a solo homer. Bucklin five runs in the seventh inning. Prusa, Nate Bowman, and Imel all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Bowman was on the pitcher’s mound for Bucklin. The lefthander allowed three hits and four runs over six innings, striking out 15. Bucklin launched three home runs on the day. Imel went yard in the seventh inning. Prusa went for the long ball in the seventh inning. Bowman had a long ball in the seventh inning. Bucklin racked up seven hits on the day. Prusa and Bowman each had multiple hits. Bowman and Prusa each collected two hits to lead Bucklin.

Kansas’ Premier dirt track opened the season Saturday, April 9 with five full IMCA classes and stylish appearances by the Kansas Antique Racers. Jordan Knight, #10 sprint driver out of Spearville, won the Spring Nationals.
