DCHS basketball: Lady Demons fall after buzzer beater versus Hays

The Dodge City Lady Demons jumped out to a 9-0 lead taking advantage of early turnovers by the Hays Indians. Hays responded with a 7-0 run and had the ball three times down 9-7 but couldn’t tie or take the lead. The Red Demons went on a 10-5 run to take a 19-12 lead, but the Indians responded with an 8-0 to take their first lead at 22-21. The advantage was short-lived as the Lady Demons took a 23-22 lead at halftime.

DCCC: Men’s Basketball hands Butler first loss at home as Conqs pick up 20th win

Dodge City men’s basketball made it two straight wins on the road against top-tier competition as they came from behind to claim an 83-77 win over the Butler Grizzlies on Saturday. The win moves the Conquistadors to 20-4 on the season and 15-3 in KJCCC action, while also handing Butler their first loss at home this season.

Dodge City High School studentathletes commit to colleges

The Red Demons had 11 student-athletes committing to college on National signing day this past weekend. DCHS has got a lot of great programs, a lot of great coaches, and all benefit from the talent of athletes like we have seen today, and for this sports writer as well as members of this community, it’s going to be fun to see them go out and have success in their individual colleges and universities.

Jaron Lindsay – Athlete of the Week

Our Athlete of the week helped the Bucklin Red Aces win the SPIAA Tournament this past weekend. Jaron Lindsay is averaging 10 points and 7.5 rebounds per game this season. In his last game versus Meade, Lindsay scored 12 points and got 10 rebounds and he has scored 142 points so far this season while grabbing 108 rebounds.[SUBMITTED PHOTO]
