Hodgeman County girls win SPIAA Basketball Tournament

The Southern Plains Iroquois Activities Association girls basketball championship game was between Hodgeman County and South Central Saturday. South Central played hard and clearly gave a strong effort, but Hodgeman County left no doubt why they are the number one seed in the tournament. South Central led by one with the score 10-9 in the first quarter, but Hodgeman outscored South Central 14-10 at the end of the second quarter to take a 23-20 lead.

DCHS boys’ basketball: Red Demons beat Panthers 51-43

The Dodge City Red Demons defeated the Great Bend Panthers in a physical WAC game by a score of 51-43. In speaking on the game, Dodge City head coach Shane Traughber said, “We were a little shorthanded because of illness tonight, but were able to tough out a win against a solid Great Bend team who played well.” Isaiah Taylor and Cooper Scheck both scored 14 points in this game.

DCHS swimming results

The Dodge City Red Demons swimming team traveled to Wichita to take part in the Wichita Northwest High School Invitational. This meet featured 19 teams from across the state with the Red Demons taking 14th place out of 19 teams.
