For the first in school history, the Dodge City men’s basketball program has swept Coffeyville in a season but the second time around on Saturday didn’t come as easy as the first win earlier in the season. The Conquistadors used overtime to battle back and beat the defending National champion Red Ravens 105-104 with a game-winning shot by BJ Freeman with 3.8 seconds left in overtime.
2022 CONQY awards are set for Monday, May 9 at 7 p.m. at Little Theatre on Dodge City Community College campus.
The Indoor track season got underway for the Dodge City track and field team as they competed on Saturday in Topeka at the Washburn All-Kansas Invite. Conquistadors saw all their action in the first meet come on the track with competitors in all the following events 60m, 60m hurdles, 200m, 400m, 600-yard run, 800m, 3000m, 1-Mile, and 4x400m relay.
For the third straight game, the Dodge City women’s basketball team went down to the wire in a tight contest this time hosting Coffeyville, and just like the first go-around earlier in the season, it was the Red Ravens squeezing out the tight win.

The Dodge City Wrestling Academy took part in the Tom Faust Memorial Tournament. At the end, the academy had 16 wrestlers finish in the top five of their weight class.
The DCHS Girls Bowling team beat Liberal recently. Carryn Lenz led the team and had a breakthrough day shooting a 571 winning the Varsity Girls competition.
The DCHS Swimming team placed third in Hays recently. This meet consisted of some tough teams like Junction City and WAC opponents.
