The DCHS Swimming team placed third in Hays recently. This meet consisted of some tough teams like Junction City and WAC opponents.
The DCHS Swimming team placed third in Hays recently. This meet consisted of some tough teams like Junction City and WAC opponents.
South Gray, known for its high-octane offense, led 18-9 after the first quarter, however, Bucklin outscored South Gray, 18-6, in the third quarter. Brent Penner finished with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams shot 46% from the field, per Bucklin’s box score. The Rebels finished with 16 turnovers, one more than Bucklin. South Gray senior Brady Deges delivered 14 points and five rebounds. Scott Price finished with 32 points on 11 of 20 shooting for Bucklin. He is at 994 career points and should clear 1,000 on Tuesday. Deges has cleared 920 career points.
The Spearville Lancers faced the Ingalls Bulldogs in a key league matchup. The game was one sided as the Lancers won 52-28.

Hopefully last week’s loss to Garden City can serve as a wakeup call to the Red Demons boys wrestling team. Its latest matchup was a good indication of getting back on the right track. The Red Demons came out firing against a much improved Hays team then years prior.
The Dodge City Red Demons boys wrestling continue to improve since losing a dual to Garden City a couple weeks ago. “We needed a wakeup call and I think Garden City did that for us,” coach Tate Lowe said.
