ASHLAND — The Spearville Lancers traveled down to Ashland to face the Bluejays and it was a battle but at the end of the night the Lancers won 26-25. Easton Shenk and Logan Hubbell finished the night with 7 points each for Spearville. Lathan McPhail led the charge for the Bluejays. Lathan finished the night with 8 points, 5 steals,7 rebounds and 3 blocks. Ashland falls to 3-4 on the year as Spearville improved to 3-4 on the season.
It was a Top 25 showdown in the Jayhawk Conference on the road for the No. 5 Dodge City Conquistador men's basketball team as they took on No. 21 Colby Trojans on Saturday and the Conqs saw the Trojans end their 11-game win streak as Dodge City fell 107-85 on the road.
The Dodge City High School swim team traveled to Salina to compete against some very competitive teams such as Junction City, Salina Central and Salina South. The Red Demons were competitive and finished in 2nd place.
The Colby Eagles boys were unable to keep up with the Dodge City Red Demons in this game as the Red Demons improved to 8-0 on the season with a 62-45 victory. This is the best start for the Demons since the 1997-98 season.
