The Big 12 Conference is embracing Friday night football in a big way for the 2024 season, as six league matchups and four additional games involving Big 12 teams have been moved to primetime slots. The schedule shift comes as part of the conference’s TV agreements with ESPN and Fox, which announced their selections for Friday night broadcasts.

For the second consecutive season, Kansas sophomore guard S’Mya Nichols has earned All-Big 12 First Team honors, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. Nichols leads a trio of Jayhawks receiving All-Big 12 recognition, with Elle Evans earning Honorable Mention and Regan Williams securing a spot on the All-Freshman Team.

K-State women’s basketball saw a quintet of players named among the All-Big 12 squads, as the league office announced the 2024-25 Phillips 66 All-Big 12 Women’s Basketball Awards on Tuesday.

Mike Moustakas is calling it a career, and he’s doing so with the team where it all began. The Kansas City Royals announced Monday that the veteran infielder will sign a one-day contract on May 31 to officially retire as a Royal. The team will honor Moustakas before their home game against the Detroit Tigers that evening.
