Football closes out season with tough road loss to #14 Butler

Dodge City football team capped the 2024 season with a tough Top 15 loss to #14 Butler on the road 28-14 to finish the season 6-4 and 3-3 in KJCCC action.The 6-4 record marks the second straight winning season for the Conquistadors and the first back-to-back winning seasons since 2015 and 2016.After a three-and-out to open the game the Conqs punted the ball away but would give Butler a short field for their first possession and the Grizzlies would just need four plays to cover 29 yards and get a touchdown to make it 7-0.

Volleyball challenges Colby in playoff semifinals in tough season-ending match

Dodge City volleyball team after a first-round playoff sweep of Hutchinson took on Colby in the NJCAA Division I Plains District Semifinals and would look to earn a spot into the championship contest.The Conquistadors would start the match strong winning the first set but the Trojans of Colby grabbed the next three handing the Conqs a tough 3-1 loss (25-18, 17-25, 23-25, 25-27).The match opened tight and back-and-forth early as it was tied 9-9 when the Conqs would go on a 5-0.

Women’s cross country finishes 12th at NJCAA DI National Championships

Dodge City women’s cross country for the fifth straight year has finished as a Top 12 team at the NJCAA Division I National Championship after racing to a 12th place team finish to wrap up the 2024 season.Three Top 60 finishes led the Conquistadors while four Conqs finish in the Top 70 overall with six Conqs in action.Sarai Chavez led the Conqs posting a time of 19:16.1 to earn a 56th-place finish out of 184 total runners.
