Berrios earns KJCCC DI men’s soccer “Player of the Week” honors

Riding a two-match win streak the Dodge City men’s soccer team heads into a week off and the performances last week against Garden City and Seward County have earned one Conquistador “Player of the Week” honors in the KJCCC.Cristobal Juan Berrios earned KJCCC Division I “Player of the Week” honors after helping the Conqs to a 2-0 week on the road against Garden City and Seward County.Berrios tallied the game-winning goal against rival Garden City putting in a corner kick off his head for a goal in the 88th minute to secure a 3-2 win over the Broncbusters.

Conquistador cross country take on the Tigers

After a week off from the first competition the Dodge City women’s cross country team was back in action competing at the Fort Hays State Invite in Hays and the Conquistadors earned a third-place team finish.Pacing the Conqs were the Washington twins as Ivy Washington finished 11th behind a time of 19:34.3, while Ava Washington posted a time of 19:47.4 to earn a 15th-place finish.Sarai Chavez had the third best time for the Conqs at the meet finishing 16th with a time of 20:00.8, while Daniela Cerda placed 19th with a time of 20:38.5.Abbi Worden raced to a 21st place finish recording a time of 20:52.1, while Teressa Martinez posted a time of 22:12.8 to finish 28th.
