Men’s soccer picks up road win over Seward County

Dodge City men’s soccer made it a 2-0 week on the pitch and picked up another win on the road on Saturday as they took down Seward County 1-0.The win moves the Conquistadors to 3-4 on the season and 3-2 in KJCCC action with a two-match win streak.The Conqs would strike early in the first three minutes as Soma Kanazawa gave the Conqs the lead after David Garcia found him for the early goal.

Women’s soccer tallies goal in 87th minute to top rival Garden City

Riding a high after an upset win over #9 Cowley the Dodge City women’s soccer team hit the road for a showdown against rival Garden City and despite falling behind early in the second half it would be two late goals to propel the Conquistadors to a 2-1 win.The Conqs with the win move to 2-3-1 on the season and 2-2-1 in KJCCC action, while also marking the 16th straight match without a loss to Garden City.The first half would be even with both teams getting off a few shots and neither team able to break through leading to a scoreless ballgame after the first 45 minutes of action.

Rivalry matchups usually lead to intense games and it was just that as Dodge City men’s soccer hit the road to continue KJCCC action against rival Garden City and it would go down to the wire as the Conquistadors snagged a 3-2 win.The win moves the Conqs to 2-4 on the season and 2-2 in KJCCC action, while also marking the tenth straight match without a loss to Garden City as Head Coach, Juan Espinal and the Conqs topped form Conqs coach, Oscar Zelaya who now leads Garden City.A tight first half would see the Conqs fall behind in the 24th minute of action as Garden City would tally the lone goal of the first half.

Cornachini, Pinard Earn KJCCC DI Volleyball Offensive & Setter “Player of the Week” honors

Dodge City volleyball team is coming off a 4-1 week going 3-1 at the Odessa College Invitational and opening KJCCC action 1-0 with a win over rival Garden City at home.The Conquistadors had several great performances on the court last week and a pair of Conqs have been awarded KJCCC Division I “Player of the Week” honors as Beatriz Lampugnani Cornachini and Hayden Pinard earned Offensive and Setter “Player of the Week” honors.Cornachini last week put together a strong performance for the Conqs in five matches amassing 54 kills, 48 digs, eight block assists, two assists, and three aces.
