Baseball solidifies coaching staff with addition of three coaches

Dodge City baseball is under the guidance of JM Kelly who took over the program just a few months ago and has solidified his coaching staff behind the addition of three coaches.Kyle Fultz joins the Conquistador baseball coaching staff as the top assistant coach, while Bob DeNucci and Kanin Westerhold are on board with Coach Kelly for his staff as volunteer assistants to give the Conqs a coaching staff of four.Fultz comes to Dodge City after most recently serving as an assistant coach at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma most recently working as the pitching coach, a role he takes on with the Conquistadors.

Women’s golf competes at NSU Golf Classic

After opening the fall season in Oklahoma, the Dodge City women’s golf team headed back to Oklahoma a week later and competed at the Northeastern State University Golf Classic in Muskogee.The Conquistadors would post rounds of 313 and 312 for a team score of 625 to finish 15th in a field of basically all NCAA Division II programs and one other junior college program.

Dodge City women’s soccer ended a 12-match losing streak to Barton in the KJCCC opener with a 2-2 tie and then took on a tough KCK team as well last week.Ana Ramirez-Cortes earned KJCCC Division I “Goalkeeper of the Week” honors for her efforts in goal for the Conquistadors last week.Ramirez-Cortes recorded six big saves in the tie against #17 Barton playing all 90 minutes in goal and followed that up with seven saves in a tough 1-0 loss to KCK playing again all 90.On the season she has 18 saves in three matches with three starts in goal for the Conqs.A pair of big KJCCC matchups loom for the Conqs next as they travel to #18 Hutchinson on Wednesday, Sept.
