Courtney McFall Coover, passed away on March 26th, 2022 at the age of 75. Courtney was born in Spearville, KS on August 19th, 1946. His parents, now deceased, were William Coover & June Williams. All three of his siblings are living, which are his brothers Marcus & Jimmy Coover and his sister, Caressa Gresham. He married his wife, Connie Kingry, in 1968 and she died in 1983. He graduated from the University of Kansas and served as a medic in the Army, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He had a successful career in Sales and spent the 30 years of his career doing home and commercial maintenance.
Courtney is survived by his daughter, Lisa Walrven, and his son Creighton Coover. He has three grandchildren, Grayson, Rylan & Weston Coover.
Courtney was a passionate conservative who loved politics. He was a proud American and loved his country a great deal. He was a Jayhawks and a Chiefs fan and loved his cats immensely. Courtney spent the last 20 years of life living in the Kansas City metro area, where he could be near his son and grandchildren.
Courtney’s remains will be laid to rest next to his wife’s grave in Hillside Cemetery in Kinsley, KS. A date for a graveside ceremony has not yet been chosen. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 16th from 2 6 p.m. at 6925 W. 151st St, Overland Park, KS, 66223. Please note it is not happening at Dior restaurant but rather a one-story building behind it that shares a parking lot with Dior. If you had the pleasure of meeting Courtney, then you will not soon forget him. Courtney had a unique way with words that was incredibly effective in getting his point across. Courtney had a huge heart and he loved to help people. He loved his country and his family and was a true patriot. May he rest in peace.
