DODGE CITY – Michael (Mike) Wayne Williamson, age 54, passed away on August 15th, 2022 at his home surrounded by family in Dodge City, KS due to several years of illness related to Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) and Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA).
Mike was born July 27, 1968 in Wichita, KS, but he grew up in Dodge City, KS. He attended Dodge City schools, graduating high school in 1986 and DCCC in 1988. He married Kimberly Harms on September 5, 1992 and they had two daughters, Jordan & Breckyn. He continued his education at Friends University to obtain his Bachelors of Science in Business Management, graduating in 2003. He worked in the industrial water treatment industry for over 25 years and loved his work.
Mike grew up riding motocross dirt bikes and motorcycles. He was an avid rider, trying to ride his Harley Davidson or dirt bike every chance he got. He was known by many in the motocross community as “PFC”. A proud accomplishment was teaching both of his daughters how to ride motocross. Mike spent as much time as he could volunteering at the Western KS Dirt Riders Race Track, teaching many to ride, offering advice, and being everyone’s cheerleader. He completed many poker runs, multi-state rides, and several trips to Sturgis on his motorcycle. He loved riding, racing, and going fast!
When he wasn’t riding, Mike enjoyed shooting guns, cruising in his jeep, spending time at the family farm, skiing, fishing, wood working, and antiquing with his wife. He was spontaneous and always up for adventures and challenges. He was always learning new things, and could build and fix anything until his illness robbed him of those skills.
He was a very kind, loving, and friendly person who always had a smile. He tried to help people in any way he could and always saw the good in others. He went out of his way to be a great father, husband, son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, fatherin-
