Elsie C. Vogel Glover, 98, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center, Dodge City.
She was born March 11, 1914 in Park, Kan. the daughter of Anthony and Cecilia Marie Leiker Zimmerman. A Dodge City resident since 1934, moving from Park and living a short time in Kinsley, she was a sales clerk in the cosmetic department at Eckles Department Store in Dodge City.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Daughters of Isabella and Altar Society all in Dodge City.
On Sept. 1, 1937 she married Herman F. Vogel at Dodge City. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1959. She later married Charles Beal at Kinsley, Kan. He also preceded her in death. On February 9, 1985, she married Charles Glover at Kinsley. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2001.
Survivors include: three sons, Tom Vogel, Dodge City, Gary Vogel, Denver and George Vogel and wife Barbara, Temple, Texas; seven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Adolph and George Zimmerman and two sisters, Sr. Hugoline Zimmerman and Marie Kline.
Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 and Vigil service at 7 p.m. Friday, both at Ziegler Funeral Chapel in Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 901 Central, Dodge City, with Fr. Ted A. Skalsky presiding. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Greencrest Memorials Gardens, Dodge City.
