DODGE CITY- John Lewis Chambers, 59, died Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at his home in Dodge City, Kansas.

He was born on March 4, 1963 at Dodge City, Kansas the son of Ben and Mary (McGuire) Chambers. He was a lifetime area resident and graduated from Dodge City High School in 1981. He worked as a bridge foreman in the construction industry. John loved his motorcycles, fixing anything and everything and watching westerns. He had an unhealthy obsession with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was known as the jack of all trades and master of none. Out of everything he enjoyed doing he was the best father and grandfather, always giving unconditional love.

On September 27, 1988 he married Julia (Meyers) Chambers. She survives.

Survivors also include: 2 sons, Derek Mercado and significant other, Monica Able, Aurora, Colorado and Colton Chambers and significant other, Kamilla Blackwell, Dodge City; his mother, Mary Chambers, Dodge City; and 4 grandchildren; Dannika, Priest, Sophia and Drake Mercado.

He was preceded in death by his father.

There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a later date.
