Joseph A. “Quezo” Perez

Dodge City – Joseph Alan “Quezo” Perez, 44, died March 30, 2022 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. He was born on June 2, 1977 at Dodge City, the son of Tom Perez, Jr. and Alice (Lozano) Perez.

Quezo grew up in Dodge City and graduated from Dodge City High School. After graduating he worked at National Beef in Dodge City and later for JAG Construction. His latest employment was with Roto-Mix of Dodge City as a machinist. Joseph enjoyed playing softball and also bowling. He was a talented artist that enjoyed drawing and also tattooing. Quezo was an easy going and mello man who just enjoyed kicking it with friends and family.

Joseph is survived by his parents, Tom and Alice Perez of Dodge City; a brother, Tommy Perez, III of Dodge City; grandmother, Gloria M. Rodriguez of Dodge City; six children, Isaiah A. Perez of Amarillo, Texas, Amree Perez of Dodge City, Adrik Perez of Dodge City, Joseph Alan Perez, Jr of Conway Springs, Tiffany M. Perez of Conway Springs, and Sofia Hawkins of Haviland; and grandson, Aiden Perez of Amarillo, Texas.He was preceded in death by grandparents, John Lozano, Tom and Helen Perez, and Robert Rodriguez; and two sisters, Tiffany Leonard and Helen Perez.

Vigil service will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at the church on Monday April 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Wesley Schawe presiding. Private family burial will be held at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Sunday April 3, 2022 from Noon to 5:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Joseph Perez Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
