DODGE CITY – Lance Henry Yost Busch, 68, died Thursday, April 7, 2022 surrounded by those he loved.
Born November 10, 1953 at Dodge City, the son of Larry Yost and Louise (Hale) Busch. Lance Graduated high school in 1971 and attended KU for 3 years before moving back to Dodge City where he went to work as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. In 2018 Lance retired after 42 years with the Post Office. During his tenure at the Post Office Lance served as the union rep of the National Association of Letter Carriers for over 30 years and was well known for his dedication to his fellow carriers.
Lance enjoyed carpentry and was a talented woodworker. He would spend his extra time remodeling houses, most notably kitchens.
He was a member of the Dodge City Church of the Nazarene where he regularly attended bible study.
Survivors include: his son, Jerad Busch, Dodge City; 2 daughters, Jenna Rouse and husband James, Dodge City and Kathryn Kravitcz, Manhattan, Kansas; his mother, Opal Louise Busch, Dodge City; 2 grandchildren, Katie and Lexi Rouse; 2 brothers, Scott Yost, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Shawn Yost, Canon City, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Yost, a son, Jacob Busch, a brother, Lyn Yost and his step-father, Richard Busch.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Lance’s life will be held at the Boothill Museum in the Mariah Conference Room from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday April 24th. Private family inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
