Dodge City – Larry Dean Adams, 60, died May 1, 2022 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. He was born on January 13, 1962 at Ashland, Kansas the son of Bill and Barbara (Kincheloe) Adams.
He married Martha Roth on January 21, 1980 in Dodge City. Larry had many different hobbies and interests in life, everything from metal art to lawn mower repair to racing out at Dodge City Raceway Park. He was quite the inventor as well, inventing a type of lock down device for schools that received national recognition. Larry was a collector of many things, one of his favorites being gold from his gold mine the Barbara Ann. Larry had a passion for helping anyone in need, especially the homeless or less fortunate people in life.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Adams of the home; one son, Brandon Adams and wife Michelle of Dodge City; one daughter, Trisha Adams of Dodge City; two granddaughters, Morgan and Taylor Adams of Dodge City. He is also survived by his step mother, Carol Adams of Springtown, Texas; four brothers, Terry Adams and wife Carla of Dodge City, Billy Adams and wife Chris of Bucklin, Randy Adams and wife Cindy of Spur, Texas, and Tim Adams and wife Trudi of Lubbock, Texas; and one sister, Laci Rogers of Dodge City; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Adams; his mother, Barbara Rogers; step father, Ken Rogers; and one brother, Gary Adams.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Kirk Larson presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 6, 2022 from noon to 8:00 PM, with the family receiving friends from 1:00-3:00 PM.
