Longhorn cattle drive “cookies” Mike Strodtman and Inga Ojala wave at spectators and make history come alive on Wyatt Earp Boulevard Aug. 6 with their Percheron mares “Ellie” and “Brie.”This was the second parade for “Ellie’s” two-month old colt, “Thunder,” who made his local debut in the Dodge City Days Western Parade July 30. The cattle drive is always a big draw for Dodge City Days and is sponsored by Boot Hill Casino & Resort, Dodge City Convention and Visitors Bureau, High Plains Feed LLC, Boot Hill Distillery, Long’s, Tommy’s Express, Roto-Mix, and Red Beard Coffee.
