DODGE CITY- Marie Bolmer, 96, died Friday, April 8, 2022 at SunPorch of Dodge City.
She was born September 6, 1925 on the family farm near Windthorst, the daughter of Joseph A. and Margaret I. (Tieben) Markus. She was a lifetime area resident and a homemaker.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady Guadalupe, Daughters of Isabella and Altar Society all in Dodge City. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
On June 14, 1949 she married Preston “Bucky” M. Bolmer at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dodge City. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2008.
Survivors include: her children, Nancy Craig and husband Don, Great Bend and their children, Kim, Julie and husband Luis and Trisha and husband Ryan, David Bolmer, Dodge City, Dan Bolmer and wife Donna, Dodge City and their children, Dawn and husband Matt, Steffani and husband Micheal and Nick and wife Brianna, Leonard “Skip” Bolmer and wife Lisa, Lakin, Kansas and their daughter, Jaden and husband Julio, Marty Bolmer and wife Kathy, Dodge City and their children, Michelle and husband Kevin, Megan and companion Cody Rejda and Matt and wife Elizabeth, Tim Bolmer and wife Victoria, Dodge City and their daughter, Alissa and James “Buc” Bolmer and wife RaeAnna, Dodge City; and 17 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Don and Phil Bolmer, a daughter, Marsha O’Brien, a sister, Valeria “Larri” Denton and 3 brothers, Alfred, Sonny and Joseph Markus.
Vigil service followed by Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Wednesday at the church with Fr. Rudin Din presiding. Burial will follow in Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
