BOE sets strategic development plan through to 2027

After presentations for the Dodge City High School wrestling teams and the Dodge City USD 443 school librarians on Monday, the Dodge City Board of Education voted on measures for new equipment as well as a academic strategic plan for the district moving forward.

Central Elementary receives merit award

Congratulations is in order for Central Elementary School principal Cherry Deges and her team of educators for receiving the Challenge Award of Merit for 2021. According to Dodge City Public Schools, the Confidence in Education Task Force administers the awards for the Kansas Department of Education. Schools are recognized for making progress in student achievement despite the many challenges in school population. Central received the award for achievement and uncommon accomplishment based on Kansas math and reading assessment. Sunnyside Elementary, Northwest Elementary, and Miller Elementary were also recipients of the Challenge Award. Fred Dierksen, Superintendent of Schools; Tami Knedler, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education, and Scott Springston, Deputy Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction were on hand to present the award to Central Elementary staff members. Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji Church of Jesus, under the leadership of Chairman Lee Man-hee) hosted a press conference with pastors, who established MOUs with Shincheonji, from around the world, at 5:00 PM(KST), on the 2 of April. It was well attended by 1,500 pastors from all over the world, along with reporters and journalists on Zoom.
