DCCC: Women’s soccer battles #6 Butler in tight contest

For the fourth straight game the Dodge City women’s soccer team took on a ranked KJCCC opponent this time hosting #6 Butler and playing the Grizzles to the wire but fell 2-0. The Conquistadors who had dropped eight of last nine meetings to Butler would play the Top 10 Grizzlies tough and their closest loss to Butler during the last 10 meetings.

Red Demons achieve Homecoming victory over Wichita South

It was Homecoming for the Dodge City Red Demons Friday Sept. 16. To celebrate, the school district held a homecoming parade through the downtown area in the yearly tradition. The football team, homecoming court and marching band walked through downtown as fans were cheering along the side of the road. All that extra motivation and hype helped the Red Demons defeat Wichita South 42-12.

Steven Ray Paris

Liberal- Steven Ray Paris, age 59, passed away Friday morning, September 16, 2022, at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born May 26, 1963, at Clayton, New Mexico, the son of Charlie Ray and Mina Arlene (Blosser) Paris.

Shirley Blake

Shirley Joan Wells Blake, twelfth child of Mary Ann Richards and John Wells, was born at their family farm outside o f Howard Kansas September 25, 1934. She passed away on September 2, 2022, at her home in Laramie, Wyoming.

Four-lane expansion closes U.S. 400 bypass in Ford County

Changes are tentatively set to begin Oct. 10, along U.S. 400 bypass in Ford County as part of the four-lane expansion project on U.S. 50/400. In connection with this project, 106 Road in Ford County will be closed on Oct. 3, from U.S. 50/400 to 106 Road/Garnett junction for a week. Please note U.S. 400 bypass will close once 106 Road is open to traffic.
